The Lib Dem shop in Walter Road is locked and their sell out of policy and principles to the Tories in their votes next week for the Queens Speech is symbolised with a blue ribbon over the door saying Under New Management.

Said newly elected Labour MP for Swansea West Geraint Davies

“The Liberal Democrat’s shop is under new Tory management as their principles are sacrificed for a few crumbs from the Tory table.

“During the Election the Lib Dems said that early cuts would be reckless. But they’ve sold out for power with Lib Dem David Laws announcing £6 billion of cuts before he had to resign over his expenses scandle.

“They said cuts in front line services wouldn’t happen but front line cuts have happened including to Child Trust Funds, support for business and the number of new university places cut by 10,000 this year.

“Lib Dem Chris Huhne said in the Election “Nuclear power is a tried, tested and failed energy source” but now he’s the Minister responsible his Government supports it!

“The Lib Dems called for fair voting but now they want any vote of confidence in the Government to be 55% so the Tories can stay in power even if a majority oppose them.

“The Lib Dems pretended to support women’s rights but now they support anonymity for those accused of rape, less CCTV and removing DNA databases meaning fewer rape charges and fewer convictions.

“They supported Europe but their Tory Prime Minister has broken ties with German Chancellor Merkel of and French President Sarkozy.

“And next they’re privatising the Royal Mail and backing tuition fees,

“Labour said if you vote Lib Dem you’ll get Tory but never imagined  they’d have a closing down sale of their principles, shut up shop and become Tories! The people of Swansea West now know they can’t trust the Liberal Democrats to keep their promises“
